About missosixnineherself

Every career had to start somewhere. As for me, I didn’t start with hobbies
like sewing or knitting. Like every other girl, I am a major shopaholic
for as long as I could remember but because I loved clothes and accessories
which were unique and fashionably loud, I started doing my own accessories,
and altering clothes to my own desire and that fits my small figure. I’ve
had random people that come up to me asking where I got my clothes from; and
how they like the accessories I’ve done. I was even featured in TV3’s Remaja
for Japanese-style dressing in the year 2000.
My first attempt of fashion design was when I
designed my senior year prom dress and from there, I started using my
graphic design skills on shirts, and started selling my merchandises on the
net, such as my personal web domain (osixnine.com), eBay Malaysia,
selltrade_kl, and PurpleMascara; Malaysia’s only shopaholics
community on LiveJournal. One of my designs even got nominated into
Threadless.com!
The birth of 'OSIXNINE' was expected by then. On my
20th birthday - July 22nd, 2006, I single-handedly organized 'OSIXNINE talks
fashion' event, a fashion blog launch at Bond Bar, Kuala Lumpur which also
previewed my first t-shirt collection named "kuzizumoo" marks the birth of
the brand "OSIXNINE" in front of 300 invited guests and VIPs. After a few
months of massive planning and a number of headaches, on December 8th 2006,
OSIXNINE boutique located in SS15, Subang Jaya opened it's doors to public.
Ever since it's opening, we've been getting very good responses; OSIXNINE
was featured in KLue's April 2007 issue and also on NTV's Life Sessions. I,
on the other hand, was chosen as one of the finalist for AYA Dream Malaysia
Awards 2006 and KLue's Blue Chilli Awards 2007.
My hopes for the near future is to extend my
fashion business as much as I can, and set a good example to the youths that
anything is possible if you dare to dream. Having said that, my ultimate
goal is to get Gwen Stefani to wear my design!
